Fancy a short drive?

Rivington Country Park is easy to access for all residents and visitors to the North West region, and is approximately 4 miles from junction 6 of the M61.

Among the attractions that make the park and its surroundings such a wonderful day out are:
Rivington Village, with its village green, church and chapel.
The Pigeon Tower, which is set on the hill behind Rivington Hall. Built to provide stunning views, it was formerly used as a sewing room by Lady Leverhulme.

The Bungalow Grounds, locally known as the Chinese Gardens. These were constructed by Lord Leverhulme on the slopes below the Pigeon Tower.

Rivington Pike is one of the region’s most famous and prominent landmarks, and a wonderful view-point from where you can see out as far as the Irish Sea and the Welsh Mountains. The Pike was originally one of a chain of ancient beacons used to transmit signals across the country, and the present tower was built in 1733. It stands 1192 feet above sea level.

The Old Castle is a remarkable folly. It is a reduced scale model of the ruined Liverpool Castle which was built by Lord Leverhulme on the banks of Lower Rivington Reservoir.
...and of course, no day out in the area would be complete without a visit to the Great House Barn and, on Sundays and Bank Holidays, Rivington Hall Barn for delicious home cooked food.
